About Us
Hillfields Park Baptist Church was opened in 1929 and was originally supported by Fishponds Baptist Church. The Hillfields estate is between Staple Hill and Fishponds in the north east of the city of Bristol, with the Hillfields church situated at its heart.
We are a fast growing church, and we have seen our numbers increase on Sundays from an average of 30 people in 2005 to currently about 70, and at the same time church membership has also doubled.
Hillfields Park Baptist is a family church and is known for its welcoming and loving atmosphere. The congregation is made up of all ages and God has blessed us with a baby boom going from zero to 13 in the last four years. The church meets on two occasions for worship on Sundays, with communion twice each month. During the week there are various bible studies and prayer groups.
Hillfields Park Baptist Church also works in the community, including, youth activities, senior luncheon clubs, keep fit, mother and toddlers groups and even a football team which plays in the local church league
We are associated with other local churches and meet three times each year for fellowship with ‘Churches Together ‘. We also reach out to the community by taking regular services at Local nursing homes and public houses.
In recent years the church has been looking into the construction of a community building on land adjacent to the church building which will be able to accommodate our community programs to a greater degree. We have received planning permission and the church is now moving to the next stage by trying to raise a massive £800,000.00 needed to fully complete the project.
We are currently seeing exciting times at Hillfields and if you are looking for a local church or are just interested in finding out more about us you are welcome to attend any of the programmes we host.
Yours in Christ
